Beach Glass Abstract
If you look close enough at the normal things around you, you'll find an amazing amount of detail and texture. This is a small piece of beach glass I had on my desk. Upon first inspection it looks like a frosty white piece of glass, but getting in close with my macro lens you start to see the chips and shards in the clear glass that make it look frosty from a distance. you can even see the tiny grains of sand that helped make it the beautiful piece of art it is.

Parfait
Mmm I just love food. And I love photography. So it stands to reason one of my favorite things to take pictures of, would be food. This was at the recent State of the City breakfast held by the Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce and the City of Santa Barbara at The Fess Parker Doubletree.

Cooper Cool
Today we went to the 12th Annual Basset Spring Games.
The games are a fund raiser for the Basset
Hound Rescue of Southern California. We do their newsletter, the Basseteer
so we took the opportunity to get some nice photos for the next issue.
But really I just wanted to go to play with the hounds!
This is Cooper, he was looking
extremely cool just enjoying a nice day in the park.
Aside from just being around a bunch of other hounds and
the crazy hound people that love them. The dogs and their food
slaves could compete in a number of fun competitions including
drooling contests, synchronized swimming, kissing contests
and Marathon Napping.
It's hard to take a bad picture of a Basset Hound, and I have
about 18 gigabytes of photos to prove it. It was a really nice day!

Attitude Gull
I liked this photo when I took it. But I had no
idea what I could possibly do with it. Then,
when I was getting ready for a show one evening
I started playing in Photoshop. I decided that
the space above the bird was perfect for a little
creativity. The way he was walking made him
seem very determined, but there was just a little
something missing. The reflection in the glasses
is the palm trees from another one of my cards.
I was actually able to convince many of the kids
at various art shows that I had to bribe the seagull
with fish to get him to wear the glasses. :-D

Did you hear somethin'?
So we thought it would be nice
to chill the wine in the freezer a bit.
A couple of hours later I asked, "Did you hear somethin'?"
Either there was not much alcohol in there or it was a really cold freezer!
Well, at least I got some fun images out of it.
