Hanging Orchid
I particularly like the simplicity of this one!

Yellow Bearded Iris
Another subject that makes a beautiful
photo no matter how you look at it.
But the backdrop of the other Iris'
leaves make the beautiful
flower stand out more. After all,
you wouldn't put a beautiful picture
in an ugly frame.
This is another photo I grew myself... :-)

Fuzzy Brain
I just got a watertight housing for my camera.
And this looks like something I would photograph while
diving, but this was actually in the aisles of Home Depot.
It is a fuzzy little plant called a Cockscomb. There is
also a more upright and pointy version of the Celosia, but this kind of brain-like one
(Celosia cristata) is my favorite.

Prickly Pear Flower
There is a great cactus garden
on Figueroa Street in Santa Barbara. I pass there
often after eating at one of my favorite
restaurants, Los Arroyos.
I took this photo when I introduced my parents to
Los Arroyos for the first time. Ironically, they were in
town to see my first Photography exhibition,
a collection of flower close-ups.
