Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Orion rising over Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Montecito, California
My intent was to get some nice sunset shots of this beautiful church in Montecito. I was a little late, but it was still a nice night. If you tilt your head to the left and use your imagination a little you can make out half of the constellation Orion rising from behind the church.

| Hi Mary Ann! You are very welcome, but in reality I should be thanking you! I have loved this church too, but it was your previous post that made me think of it when I was going out for a relaxing evening photo shoot. We don't go through the area very often, only when the freeway is packed and we slip along state route 192 to avoid the traffic. But now I'm making a point of spending some time over there. So there should be more to come! I am usually a night owl, but I think the front of the church will be beautiful with the rising sun behind it. So one day I'll get motivated earlier... or more likely, stay up just a little later. :-D I'll have to ask them about the nativity scene though. I was out of town right at Christmas, but they had not done anything that I could see before that. Happy New Year! -Bill |
