Diffuse Hibiscus
This Hibiscus was in the garden of a mission by San Diego.
It was an overcast day which made for some nice soft light.
I particularly liked this flower since most of the others
were tightly closed or all the way open.

Shady Hibiscus
The angle of the light really brings out
the texture of this beautiful flower.
I had some fun with the little fuzzy
things on the top and a macro lens too.
I'll take a close look at the results
and see if there is anything interesting
to put up here tomorrow.

Hibiscus
I have actually had quite a few
people ask if I had pictures of
Hibiscus. One of them at a show once even seemed
quite irritated that I didn't.
I don't usually do shows anymore.
This Hibiscus is growing in a pot
in front of a health food store
in La Cumbre Plaza. It is a real beauty
but I had to wait for just the right
light.

Purple flower
The light is perfect on this beautiful flower,
the angle brings out the texture of the petals.
But, the Internet failed me on this one! I was not able to
identify it. I'll keep lookin'.

Hibiscus
There are a couple of blocks in downtown
Santa Barbara that are lined with beautiful
Hibiscus. Lots of bushes as you would expect
but this one in particular was on a tree well above
my head.

Hibiscus
I had someone ask me if I had any photos of
Hibiscus the other day. There were two
that immediately popped to mind, this is
my favorite. But, as I was talking to
her, I realized she was looking for
more of a straight on shot.
Some subjects catch my eye better when
viewed in a unique way. If not a
different angle than you would normally see,
then an odd lighting situation or in an interesting setting.
