Winterberry Holly [Ilex verticillata]
More specifically Winterberry Holly. It gets this name from the fact that the berries come in late autumn and stay through the winter. But the leaves don't! So, through the winter the bush (more like a tree) is covered only with these beautiful red berries.Yet another bit of botanical expertise supplied by my beautiful wife! She also took a picture of me taking this picture, maybe someday I'll post it here too... maybe not. :-D

Feedback for Holly Berries:

| Why are there many more berries some years, and practically none in another year? We live in NH, and there is an abundance of the berries this year. | |
