The Physics of Sand Castles
My best friend turned me on to a cool story the other day and, in a bout of late-night-insomniac web surfing, I found several different spins on it. I believe this was the article: Live Science And, from one of my favorite science sites: The NASA view of sand castles Lastly, for all you serious physicists out there (and us insomniacs too): The hard-core science (unfortunatly, I could not find the more recent work mentioned in the first article)
